Xiangyang Liuji Airport is located in the northeast corner of Xiangyang City, 18 kilometers away from the city center. The airport was officially opened to traffic on December 14, 1989, becoming one of the first Chinese.. Home to a new civilian airport financed by local funds. The airport has opened flights to Beijing, Shanghai Hongqiao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Haikou, Chongqing, Xi 'an and Hangzhou, of which two flights a day from Beijing, three from Wuhan and the rest a day. Xiangyang Liuji Airport is located in the northeast corner of Xiangyang City, 18km away from the city center, covering an area of 1876 mu and 72m above sea level. Approved by the Military Commission of the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of China on January 30, 1986, it was built by Xiangyang Municipal government with self-funded funds.
